The Kickstarter campaign for the upcoming medieval role-playing game Kingdom Come: Deliverance managed to reach its intended goal just 36 hours after its inception.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance aims to present a single player role-playing experience set in medieval Europe, where players take charge of their destinies and navigate the open-world sandbox, employing either period-accurate melee combat techniques or guile and diplomacy to reach their goals.

The main point of difference from existing RPGs is that the world will be entirely realistic, with no fantasy content whatsoever. There will be castles, villages, many NPCs going about their daily routines, but no elves and no magic, or as the devs put it, “Dungeons & no Dragons.”

The amazing feat was announced by developer Warhorse Studios in a Kickstarter update, the team stating that since their goal was already reached, they are planning to announce the first stretch goal later today.

“That's really, absolutely, mind-blowingly thrilling. We cannot stress strongly enough how grateful we are to all of you. This resounding confirmation of what we've been working on for almost two years just makes everything worthwhile,” the developers stated.

They have also assured their supporters that all the funds raised will go entirely toward the development of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, in order to build the best possible game experience.
