Video game publisher and hardware maker Nintendo has begun shipping a plastic stand with copies of Kid Icarus: Uprising on the Japanese market, giving players a way to engage with the game in a more comfortable way.

The stand seems to be specifically designed in order to allow players to put the 3DS in a more convenient position, with an angle which allows for the stylus to be used without having to hold the entire handheld.

Masahira Sakurai, who is in charge of the development of the stand for the platform, has stated that the design is not only for Kid Icarus and that players will see benefits in other 3DS titles.

Nintendo seems to be keen on launching hardware add-ons for its newest device, making sure that players have the option of customizing it according to their own needs, something that’s also clear after the launch of the Circle Pad Pro attachment.
