The Oculus-enabled edition comes with no extra charge

Frontier Development Studio confirmed that its Elite: Dangerous, successfully funded on Kickstarter will receive the space sim Oculus Rift VR support.

This project marks the first game since 1995's Frontier: First Encounters and has had an incredible success on Kickstarter, managing to raise up the unbelievable sum of $2.7 million / € 1.9 million.

On the same platform, Oculus VR had a similar success and raising during its campaign more than $ 2.4 million / € 1.7 million.

CEO Frontier David Braben stated "We've been playing with the Oculus Rift dev kits and are excited about the potential - just glancing around your cockpit or being totally immersed in a space battle." It seems that the developers are extremely pleased with this support and believe gamers will certainly appreciate it and recognize its potential.

The studio announced that the Oculus-enabled edition of the game would be available to all Kickstarter supporters with no additional charge in 2014 when the game is released.
