Johan Andersson, the leading developer working on Europa Universalis IV, says that his team will not try to limit the complexity level of the game, but will make sure that there are clear ways for players to get information and make sense of it.

He tells Digitally Downloaded that, “One of our goals with Europa Universalis IV is to keep the complexity in the game, but at the same time make the game more intuitive and less complicated to get into for the player.”

At the same time, Paradox wants to make sure that players end up talking about Europa Universalis IV and will make personal narrative an important element of the experience.

The grand-strategy title is expected to launch late during the year, with improved trading and a number of new systems.
