A hastily retracted screenshot that appeared on the official website for Madden NFL 13 has revealed that the new commentary team for the upcoming American football simulation will be composed of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms.

The development team at EA Sports promised that a new commentary duo would be introduced for the game but has so far refused to offer the names of the two stars.

Jim Nantz is the leading play by play commentator for NFL on CBS at the moment and has been widely praised for his work and received a number of awards.

Phil Simms is a former quarterback and also works for CBS at the moment, offering more in-depth analysis for the games.

EA Sports has also promised that the new Madden title will offer more variety when it comes to the audio commentary.

Madden NFL 13 is set to launch on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360, the Wii and the PlayStation Vita in late August.
