The Nintendo 3DS has managed to top the Japanese hardware sales chart for the final tracked week of 2013, just as the A Link Between Worlds release of The Legend of Zelda for the same device took number one in the software top ten.

The handheld has managed to move 208,893 devices to its fans, which is a decrease over the previous seven-day period but still leaves it with a huge lead over the Wii U, which is in second place with sales of 79,174.

The PlayStation Vita continues to post solid increases and, according to data from NeoGAF, has grown from 49,366 to 75,207.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds has managed to sell 225,418 copies, and the rest of the software top ten is made up of: PazuDora Z: Puzzle & Dragons Z, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, Pokemon X / Y, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster: Twin Pack, Wii Party U, New Super Mario Bros. U, Super Mario 3D World, Monster Hunter 4, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
