It seems that no piece of hardware can remove the 3DS handheld from the top of the chart on the Japanese market, although it will be interesting to see the impact of the September launch of the Xbox One. The Nintendo-made device once more leads with overall sales of 38,759 units, a small increase over the previously tracked period.

The 3DS is followed by the PlayStation Vita from Sony, according to Media Create as quoted by NeoGAF, which has managed to deliver 18,685 units to fans for the week that ended on August 3.

The final position on the podium is linked to the Wii U home console, which continues to do well by posting sales of 9,646, just a little bigger than during the previous seven-day period.

The PlayStation 4 continues to suffer and is again lagging behind the older PS3 with sales of 5,695, which at least are a little higher than the previous 5,581.

In the video games department, the leader of the chart continues to be Yo-kai Watch 2: Ganso / Honke for the 3DS from Level 5, which moved another 143,777 copies to fans.

The rest of the top ten includes: Yoshi's New Island, Mario Kart 8, Taiko no Tatsujin: Don to Katsu no Jikuu Daibouken, Yo-kai Watch, Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, Happiness Charge PreCure! Kawa-Run Collection, SoniPro, Fate/Kaleid Liner: Prisma Illya, and Atelier Shallie: Alchemist of the Dusk Sea.
