The PlayStation 4 from Sony continues to be the leading gaming hardware on the core Japanese market, but its overall rhythm has slowed down considerably and it might be open for a challenge from older leader 3DS in the coming weeks.

The next-gen device has managed to deliver 65,685 units to gamers during the week that ended on March 2, which is a huge drop when compared to the more than 300,000 moved during its launch week.

The 3DS handheld is up to 38,013 devices sold in order and occupies second place, according to data from Media Create quoted by NeoGAF, and the last place on the podium belongs to the PlayStation Vita from Sony, which also saw a boost in its own numbers.

The PlayStation 3 continues to sell well despite the launch of the PS4, while the Wii U from Nintendo has managed to move 8,204 units to gamers, well under the expectations of the company.

The leader of the game chart is Harvest Moon: Linking The New World from Marvelous AQL for the 3DS, which managed to move 130,782 copies to gamers during its launch week.

The rest of the top ten includes: Knack, Fossil Fighters: Infinite Gear, Yakuza: Ishin! for PS4, Dragon Quest Monsters 2: Iru to Ruka no Fushigi na Fushigi na Kagi, Yo-kai Watch, Kagero: Darkside Princess, Yakuza: Ishin! for PS3, Kagero: Darkside Princess, Kirby Triple Deluxe.
