Publisher Warner Bros. is apparently also working on a video game version of the newly announced Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them from J.K. Rowling, a new novel that’s supposed to expand the Harry Potter world.

The new book is designed to take place about 70 years before the events of the core series and will feature Newt Scamander as the main character.

Deadline cites J.K. Rowling as saying, “The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt’s story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry’s gets underway.”

The Harry Potter universe can already be explored by gamers via the Pottermore title.

Warner Bros. has also published single-player experiences based on the books, but they failed to impress the fan base.

It’s unclear when the movie and the video game companion might be launched.
