Nintendo has plans to remedy both issues in the future

Satoru Iwata, the chief executive officer at Nintendo, says that his own company is to blame for the lack of success of the new Wii U home console, mainly because of deficiencies when it comes to marketing efforts.

The developer is quoted by Gamespot as saying that, “Because we’re always trying to be unique, it takes some energies on our side to people understand the real attractions about whatever we are doing.”

Most gamers do not yet know why the Wii U is a great gaming device and are not driven to try it out, according to the CEO.

Nintendo has also failed to create a single must-have game that captures the essence of Wii U, as it did with Wii Sports for its older platform.

The company is still aiming to sell 9 million Wii U’s in the coming years.
