Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet has received a patch on PC to finally remove the Games for Windows Live system from the game, replacing it with the much more popular Steam one.

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, the indie game made by Shadow Planet Productions, was published by Microsoft for the Xbox 360 and PC, meaning that it was straddled with the Games for Windows Live anti-piracy system.

The mechanic, loathed by many PC users, will soon go offline, and many games that used it have begun receiving patches to eliminate the clunky system.

Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet has just gotten a new patch for the PC via the Steam service, replacing GfWL with the Steam suite of systems, including achievements and much more.

The confirmation was made by creator Michel Gagne on IndieStatik: "ITSP will continue to be available on Steam. In fact, soon it will be GFWL-free. Thank God!"

The patch is already live on Steam and should be downloaded automatically. Bear in mind that save game corruption issues are being detected, so it's probably better to start a new campaign.
