Sony has announced the precise release date of the upcoming Infamous: First Light, a standalone digital title for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, coming out on August 26/27.

The star of the upcoming game is Fetch, a young girl who crossed paths with Delsin Rowe during the events of the original Infamous: Second Son. She will use her incredible Neon powers in a standalone mini-game built on the Infamous: Second Son engine, playable without the need to purchase the original game.

Fetch Walker, the protagonist, is forced to relive some tragic moments from her past, after being imprisoned in a jail for humans with super-powers. The setting of the adventure will still be the stunningly recreated Seattle, following her quest to escape Curdon Cay and exact her vengeance on those who wronged her.

A PlayStation Network listing revealed the launch date of the product to be August 27, and now developer Sucker Punch has decided to make things official on Twitter, while also revealing a concept art teaser.

"New inFAMOUS First Light concept art! Fetch takes the fight to Curdun Cay Aug. 26, Europe 27th," the tweet from the studio reads.

Infamous: First Light is coming to the PlayStation 4 on August 26 in North America and August 27 in Europe.
