Dota 2 and its precursor, the original Dota mod for Warcraft 3, are a global phenomenon, but in the Philippines it seems that love has reached new heights, as people from the Asian country can now enjoy a TV show called "I'm in Love with a Dota Player" that's based on a popular romance book.

The Dota experience has been around for many years and its initial iteration, as a mod for Warcraft 3, remains popular in countries where people still play on older computers or in Internet cafes. Even though many in the Philippines have evolved to Dota 2, there are still many loyal to the original mod.

So influential is the game in the Asian country that it's already spawned a book and a TV show called "I'm in Love with a Dota Player."

As you can see in the trailer below, the TV show is a proper production and apparently consists of five major episodes that are currently being broadcasted in the Philippines.

The story seems to focus on the romantic relationship between a young girl and a Dota player and apparently also features some intense eSports tournaments and other such competitions.
