Developer 505 Games confirmed that the multi-platform Zombie survival title How to Survive will release on the Wii U sometime next year.

The game was originally intended to hit Nintendo's eShop during its October/November launch for PC, Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, and its absence raised some questions among community members.

The game is still in the works and will definitely see the light of day on Nintendo's console during 2014, 505 Games assured players via Nintendo Everything.

How to Survive places players on a remote zombie-infested island off the coast of Columbia. Gamers have to master the game's crafting system and take the survival guide to heart if they want to ever make it out alive.

Players have to scavenge for food and water, build shelter and weapons and then defend themselves against the unending undead onslaught.

The Wii U version won't feature online multiplayer, opting instead for the local multiplayer already seen on the other systems.
