It also shows how the game has been improved

The development team at Gearbox currently working on Homeworld Remastered Collection is delivering a new diary linked to the title, which is designed to offer players a quick introduction to the story that the two core titles in the series are offering.

Despite the narrative focus, the footage oscillates between the classic version of the game and the new one to show how the visuals, the effects associated with them and the sound of the experience have all been updated in order to appeal to a modern audience.

Homeworld tells a complex and operatic story of survival and conflict delivered via some simply drawn cutscenes.

But most of the emotional attachment that the title generated when it launched was linked to the way gamers connected to each of their units and sought to keep them alive as they progressed through the campaign.

Homeworld Remastered Collection will be offered on the PC on February 25, 2015 and the developers are hoping that fans of the classic two titles will pick it up in numbers.

If the remake is successful, then the company has suggested that it might create an entirely new third title, which would keep the core mechanics of the franchise but would also include innovation that has changed the strategy title in the past ten years.
