Independent developer Ninja Theory has revealed its plans to show some Hellblade gameplay next month, and has released a brand new developer diary.

The makers of Heavenly Sword, DmC: Devil May Cry, and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West are currently working on a small-scope AAA quality title, focusing on delivering exciting melee fighting and exploring Celtic lore.

The plot follows protagonist Senua as she embarks on a journey through a hellish underworld, taking on horrific creatures and probably slicing them to bits.

A tweet from the studio has also revealed that we'll get the very first peek at Hellblade's gameplay, and see the complex fighting system in action, on Wednesday, June 10.

The new video details the process of creating a vertical slice demo of the game, consisting of around 15 minutes of gameplay, which the studio intends to show behind closed doors prior to the E3 convention next month.

The developers' video diaries have been pretty interesting so far, offering a behind-the-scenes look at to game development for all those interested in the industry.

Hellblade is currently scheduled for release sometime later this year, headed to PC and the PlayStation 4 home console from Sony. The devs have mentioned something about a possible beta test on PC, and have revealed that the game could support modding.
