The big announcement coming from the Paradox Convention is that the company is working on hearts of Iron IV, which is expected to be launched in the early days of 2015, giving grand strategy fans a chance to revisit the World War II period.

Johan Andersson, the leader of the entire studio, says in a thread on the official forums that he is aiming to create a more sandbox experience because determinism does not enhance the player experience.

Paradox is well known for its grand strategy titles and with both Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis IV, the company has delivered games where players can chance the history of the entire world.

Hearts of Iron IV aims to bring deeper technology trees, more strategic and diplomatic options and a new set of tactical plans that will make it easier for newcomers to approach the game while still offering depth for long-term fans.
