The team at Paradox Development Studios is offering the first full development diary for its upcoming Hearts of iron IV, which is designed to introduce the core ideas of the grand strategy title to the audience and offer the first image taken from the game engine.

Dan Lind, the project lead working on the title, states on the official forums that, “Our goal with Hearts of Iron IV is to create a WWII game completely focused on Global Strategic Warfare. We are aiming to make Hearts of Iron IV the best WWII strategy game yet with a smoother learning curve and deeper gameplay.”

The developer says that the final aims are ambitious, but the team working on the title has the passion and the experience to create a deep yet engaging title.

The new game will introduce big changes to the map, productions, tech use and army management, which will be detailed in future diaries.

Hearts of Iron IV will be launched on the PC in early 2015.
