If you like the concept of a hive mind, you might also know that it doesn't work very well with humans, seeing how they have this pesky individuality thing about them that keeps getting in the way of progress.

Thankfully, the Twitch Plays Pokemon trend is offering us some sort of simulator to get acquainted with coordinating our hopes and dreams for when an alien insect race might enslave us all.

Now, the phenomenon has extended to Hearthstone, Blizzard's virtual card-slinging game, in an attempt to see whether humankind can unite in tackling challenges of a more strategic nature.

Hearthmind allows players to watch live matches and plan their moves themselves, indicated on screen by an arrow highlighting the desired effect, and every five seconds one of the decisions is picked and the move made.

The result is – as anyone would expect – an eclectic mix of genuine moves, some more inspired and some less, as well as countless attempts to try and troll the tryhards who are actually trying to win.

The Hivemind account was last placed at Rank 22, which means that the community managed to win a couple of games, since new players start at Rank 25 and then work their way up. One aspect that is surely of immense help is the fact that you cannot lose rank while being placed that low.
