Developer Flying Wild Hog and publisher Kalypso have confirmed that the recent Hard Reset first person shooter will be arriving to retail stores in the form of an Extended Edition.

Hard Reset impressed us with its gritty, old school shooter mechanics, not to mention its sharp graphics that depicted a grey yet still colorful dystopia where the player needed to battle with legions of robotic enemies.

Now, after the game appeared as a downloadable title via Valve’s Steam digital distribution service, Flying Wild Hog announced that it will release, in partnership with Kalypso, a retail version of the title, in the form of the Extended Edition.

Besides the regular game, as well as its newly released Survival mode, the retail edition will have five new single-player levels that add around 2 hours of gameplay, four new enemies and a new boss character, not to mention an updated graphics engine with new gameplay elements, more back story, and two new levels for the survival mode.

Expect the Hard Reset: Extended Edition to appear in retail stores in March, 2012.
