Microsoft is preparing to debut a massive high-definition reimagining of the main Halo games (aka 1 through 4) which will launch on the Xbox One as Halo: The Master Chief Collection, according to a new report.

Microsoft surprised a lot of people when it revealed Halo 5: Guardians yesterday, the next game in the franchise that will appear on the Xbox One in fall of 2015, alongside the TV series made by Steven Spielberg.

It also teased that it has more announcements to make at E3 2014 on June 9 and now it seems that one possible reveal has been spoiled, via a report from Engadget.

The website claims that Microsoft is giving the high definition remake treatment to Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4, in order to launch them for the Xbox One this fall.

Apparently, the games are part of Halo: The Master Chief Edition, and serve as a quick reminder of his adventures before the debut of Halo 5 next year.

They won't include the spinoffs, Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach, and apparently another studio, possible Halo Anniversary dev Saber Interactive, are handling the development.

Take this rumor, however, with a piece of salt, as previous speculation mentioned just a Halo 2 Anniversary HD remake title for Xbox One.
