The online test phase for The Master Chief Collection owners ends on January 22, 2015

Microsoft and 343 Industries have confirmed the official start and end dates of the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta, with the test phase kicking off on December 27, 2014, and ending on January 22, 2015, on the Xbox One only for Halo: The Master Chief Collection owners.

At its E3 2014 press conference, Microsoft has finally revealed that it's going to deliver a Halo: The Master Chief Collection package to the Xbox One, which includes Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, 3, and 4, not to mention plenty of other bonuses, such as access to the Halo: Nightfall digital series made by filmmaker Ridley Scott and the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta, which will start this December.

Now, on the official website, Microsoft and 343 Industries have pinned actual start and end dates to the Halo 5: Guardians online test phase, confirming that it will debut on December 27, 2014, and that it will last several weeks, until January 22, 2015.

During this time, Halo: The Master Chief Collection owners will be able to play the Guardians multiplayer beta on their Xbox One, provided they have a valid Xbox Live Gold membership.

These dates are subject to change, according to Microsoft, so until we hear more about the Master Chief Collection and the Guardians online beta, don't clear our your winter holiday schedule just yet.
