Due to the parallel rendering option, the resolution might have to be reduced

The Halo 2 Anniversary game included in the upcoming Halo: The Master Chief Collection might not run at a full 1080p HD resolution when in the single-player campaign, due to the parallel rendering of the visuals in both the remastered style and the classic one, according to 343 Industries.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection was confirmed to the world earlier this month and the pack is set to include Halo 1, 2, 3, and 4, all remastered to take advantage of the Xbox One's power.

What's more, Halo 2 has received the anniversary treatment, which means that players can experience it with remastered visuals but also change, with the press of a button, the rendering style to that of the old visuals from the Xbox game.

While talking with fans on NeoGAF, 343 Industries' Frank O'Connor mentioned a few more technical details.

First up, he emphasized that the multiplayer in the Halo 2 Anniversary experience runs at all times at a 1080p resolution and a 60fps framerate.

However, because in the single-player campaign the game runs in parallel, the resolution might need to be reduced.

"There's a chance that Halo 2 Anniversary campaign could run at a different resolution to accommodate the second frame buffer. But the intent is to overcome that hurdle," he said.

As such, until November, when Halo: The Master Chief Collection appears, expect to hear more details about the performance of the Xbox One experience.
