The remastered game might finally be released in the near future

The mod team behind the Black Mesa project – a reimagining of Half-Life 1 powered by the Source engine – is finally getting ready to pin a release date on the game and has just posted a fresh series of screenshots.

Half-Life 1 was a stunning game but, after the release of its sequel and its downloadable episodes, the old graphics were in dire need of an upgrade.

Thankfully, a team of modders started working on a special project called Black Mesa, which recreates the original game by using Valve’s Source engine.

After failing to meet multiple release dates, the game might finally be released in the near future.

Until then, in order to get the hype going, the developers have posted a brand new set of screenshots, showing off an array of environments, characters, and enemies.

As you can see, while the game has been in development for quite some time, it’s looking very good.

Expect to hear about a release date for Black Mesa soon enough.
