14 DAY TRIAL // The development team at Sony Online Entertainment is delivering a new video for its upcoming H1Z1 that’s designed to give fans of the survival zombie action genre some more information about the coming title and its core mechanics.
The studio is showing the impressive quality of the graphics that has been achieved during the last few months of development and explains that players need to be aware of their surroundings and potential threats at every moment.
H1Z1 features a world where a major mutation has turned the common cold into a much more powerful source of infestation that has filled every city with zombies and with humans who are only interested in survival.
SOE explains that, “Set in a post-apocalyptic world, H1Z1 is a zombie survival MMO where thousands of players must strategically align with friends and against enemies in order to survive death and infection.”
The obvious inspiration for the experience is the very successful DayZ mod for ArmA, but the development team says that it wants to create a much better AI for the zombies and to encourage players to work together it they want to survive in the long term.
The game does not have an official launch window, but a beta could arrive later in the year.
