The online role playing is no longer exclusive to the PC

NCSoft has confirmed that its upcoming Guild Wars 2 MMORPG, which is supposed to be exclusive for the PC, has entered the “preparation stage” for a possible appearance on consoles like the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.

Guild Wars 2, just like its predecessor, promises to change the way people experience online role playing games, as it has a sharper focus on single-player adventures and, most importantly, doesn’t charge a monthly subscription, unlike World of Warcraft or Star Wars: The Old Republic.

While the new title is getting ready for its appearance on the PC later this year, publisher NCSoft has confirmed during a recent conference call with investors, via GWI, that it has reached the “preparation stage” in terms of getting Guild Wars 2 onto consoles.

Until now, the developer shied away from confirming such a project, saying merely that it’s thinking about bringing the online game onto other devices.

Judging by this statement, however, it's safe to say that Guild Wars 2 will appear first for the PC and then, at a later time, for the PS3 or Xbox 360.
