The development team at ArenaNet announces that it is getting ready to launch the first World vs World season for its MMO Guild Wars 2, which is set to take place over seven weeks and will involve all interested players.

The North American region will be separate into two leagues of 12 worlds, while the European region will have three leagues of 9.

Devon Carver, the coordinator of the World vs World matches, says on an official game blog that, “At the conclusion of the season, the worlds will be ranked in order of the total number of points they’ve acquired and all players who have completed the season long meta-achievement will be given prizes based on that ranking.”

All the rewards and the conditions required to get access to them are detailed on the official site.

A second season for the World vs World battles in Guild Wars 2 will take into account the results of the first and the feedback coming from players.
