A player named Surfeuz has managed the pretty incredible feat of reaching level 80, the cap, in Guild Wars 2 even before the game was officially launched on August 28.

The player has taken advantage of the three-day early access period that was offered to those who pre-ordered and has created a crafting-oriented character, which was then also helped by his own guild, called War Legend, which donated a lot of materials for him to use.

Mike O’Brien, who is one of the producers on Guild Wars 2, has stated, “Be aware that this was not through normal levelling. A few users have made us aware of unusual ways to level very fast. We’re fixing these issues as I type.”

The developers at ArenaNet have stated that one of their aims for Guild Wars 2 is to create an experience where gamers enjoy every bit of the experience as they level up rather than simply grinding in order to gain levels.
