Video game developer ArenaNet is announcing that it plans to introduce a beta version of a streaming client for Guild Wars 2 in the coming update for the MMO, making it easier for players to download patches and new content.

Apparently, at the moment, the feature will only be introduced on North American and European servers, and Chinese gamers will have to wait for a while before they get the same functionality.

The official announcement explains that "When you next launch and patch the game, there will be a marker on the progress bar that shows you how much you’ll need to download before the game will be playable. Once the progress bar reaches that marker, you’ll be able to jump right in and start playing."

For those who download Guild Wars 2 for the first time, this means that they should get a seamless expansion through character creation, tutorial and then the starting zones.

The developers are also introducing an option for gamers who have to deal with a download cap to state how much the game client should download at any date.

The streaming client will be initially in beta and gamers will be able to offer feedback on it.

Guild Wars 2 is also getting a first-person view with the coming update and there are plans to add more camera options as well.
