Guild Wars 2: Battle for Lion's Arch represented the ultimate showdown with the massively multiplayer online role-playing game's most powerful villain, Scarlet Briar, an epic confrontation that required the combined efforts of the community.

Scarlet's armies have razed Lion's Arch and now occupy the remnants of the once great port city, but the battle was far from over. For months, she has been scheming and plotting and putting together her armies, preparing for the final assault, which took place inside the game on February 18, 2014.

The heroes of Tyria have assembled and dealt the final blow to Scarlet, defeating her once and for all, only to learn what her ultimate goal actually was. The last battle took place a week ago, when Scarlet was finally slain, but her machinations were already in motion.

The latest update in ArenaNet's Living World campaign is the Battle for Lion's Arch Finale Cinematic, released by publisher NCsoft and showing Scarlet's defeat, along with a glimpse of something far more sinister to come.

ArenaNet has also scheduled a small release due out today, March 18, which will provide an epilogue to the Battle for Lion's Arch story arc and will show the aftermath of what players have experienced since the event began, on March 4.
