The development team at ArenaNet says that gamers who now manage to complete Achievements in Guild Wars 2 will get rewards in the MMO, which should spur more players to explore the game world.

Perks and bonuses are crucial for success in the game and the developers want to make it easier for players to get them.

All the Achievements are counted retroactively.

Gamers who complete Achievements will get access to: exclusive armor and skins for it, account bonuses like better chances of finding magic items, karma gains and experience boosts.

Players can also get in-game Guild Wars 2 currency, rewards for the Player vs. Player mode, World vs. World items and unique titles.

ArenaNet now plans to deliver updates for the MMO every two weeks, including new Living World content for gamers to explore.
