Kazunori Yamauchi, the leader of developer Polyphony Digital, says that one of the major improvements that was initially announced for Gran Turismo 6, the new sound engine, might not be ready in time for the launch of the game.

The creative director tells Eurogamer that, “I think I mentioned this in the past, but we’re really working to change the fundamental way that the engine sound works. Right now I have a feeling that it might not make it for day one for GT6.”

A patch might be delivered after the game is out in order to give fans access to the enhanced features.

The new racing title will offer more than 1,000 cars and a variety of tracks to race them on.

Gran Turismo 6 is set to launch on the PlayStation 3 from Sony on December 5 in Japan and December 6 in the rest of the world.
