Cory Barlog, the designer of God of War 2, has returned to the developer of the hack and slash series, Sony Santa Monica, to work on a brand new project, according to an announcement he made.

Sony Santa Monica's God of War series has seen quite a few installments but each had a different lead designer, starting with franchise creator David Jaffe, to Cory Barlog, Stig Asmussen, or Todd Papy.

Now, after brief stints at different studios like Avalanche or Crystal Dynamics, Cory Barlog has confirmed on the PS blog that he's come back to Sony Santa Monica in order to assemble a team and start work on a "freaking huge" project.

As of yet, he can't say anything about it, but he urges developers from other studios to join the team and start working together.
