Coffee Stain Studios has announced that their next title is the controversial Goat Simulator, set to release this spring, on April 1.

The studio has even released a trailer from the game, showing some wacky goat antics, with the four-legged protagonist going around the city and wrecking stuff and generally causing all sorts of trouble.

"Okay internet you win, it looks like Goat Simulator is our next IP," the studio comments, describing their game as being similar to an old-school skating game, only you're a goat and instead of chaining together tricks you're busy causing property damage.

The Goat Simulator phenomenon started when the studio revealed a video showing some alpha footage at the beginning of February, which quickly went viral and caused a stir, instantly generating a demand for the quirky title.

The developers behind Sanctum and its recent sequel Sanctum 2 were quick to oblige, and after a few weeks the "final" version is in the making, and will be released this spring.

Pre-orders of the game are available on the Goat Simulator website, and they come with a nice bonus of three days of early access prior to the game's release.

The website also offers a disclaimer from the studio, warning people that Goat Simulator is a small and stupid game that was made in a couple of weeks for kicks, far from the scope of a proper sandbox game such as Grand Theft Auto.
