Japanese video game creator and publisher Bandai Namco has released a new video for the upcoming Girls und Panzer: I Will Master Tankery, showing gameplay footage of the tanks and girls in action on the Vita.

The upcoming game is based on the popular anime television series "Girls und Panzer" and will be joined by a feature-length film and by a manga due out this year.

The game will follow a group of high school girls involved in various contests against competing schools and will feature mainly vehicular combat and a lot of drama.

The three-minute video shows the girls engaged in a deadly tank battle against St. Gloriana Girls Academy.

Players will normally follow the action from a third-person perspective, showing the tank and having the characters pop up in the corners to deliver their lines, but there is also a scope mode for when you want the extra precision in sniping some remote target.

Girls und Panzer: I Will Master Tankery is slated for a June 26 release exclusively in Japan for the PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment system from Sony. First print run copies will also include a code for a downloadable in-game tank, the Carro Armato P40 Heavy Tank.
