Taking a look at how the crowd reacts to the eSports presence

One of the more impressive things at Gamescom 2012 is the enthusiasm of the crowd of visitors when it comes to competitive games that take place in open space.

There’s cheering when the best players are presented and interviewed, more when games start and the crowd, made up mostly of players with deep knowledge of the games, reacts to every twist and turn in a fight with cheers, boos and gasps.

The same phenomenon can be seen at the Blizzard space, where Starcraft II with the Heart of the Swarm expansion was live, and at the huge area where League of Legends stars can test their abilities under the watchful eyes of the developers at Riot Games.

It’s nice to see that people can stand for hours and react just because they have a chance to see their favorite games played by some of the best eSport athletes in the world.
