The video game retail chain GameStop has announced that it plans to open up 3,600 of its stores in the United States in order to host midnight launches for the BioWare-made action and role-playing game Mass Effect 3.

The events will include competitions, early sale of the game and a special live stream which will feature guests from the BioWare offices in Edmonton, Canada as well as links to Boston, Chicago and West Hollywood.

GameStop is also offering pre-order deals for Mass Effect 3 and there’s even a coupon for a 50 dollars price cut on the Kinect motion tracking system, which can be used in the game to control squad mates and select dialog options, for those who get the game between March 6 and 11.

The United States will get access to Mass Effect 3 on the PC, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 on March 6 while European gamers will have to wait three long days before playing the same game.
