The team wants fans to spread the word about the new Wii U title

The team at Nintendo in charge of the upcoming Game & Wario video games is launching a new promotion for the title that mimics the core look of crowd funding while poking fun at it.

The Crowdfarter campaign has an official site that looks a lot like that of Kickstarter and asks fans of the game to promote it via Facebook and Twitter messages.

Wario himself states that his upcoming title is an “action-platform-sketching-puzzle-shooting-design-rhythm-sports game, and it is so amazing that I want to share it with the world! THE WORLD, I SAY! WAHAHAHAHA!”

There are also some weird stretch goals linked to fan participation.

It’s unclear whether Nintendo wants to suggest that its products are superior to those funded by Kickstarter or if it is simply looking for a new way to promote Game & Wario.

The title is out on the Wii U in late June.
