Italian indie studio MixedBag will be releasing their first game, Futuridium EP, on the PlayStation Vita in an enhanced and expanded edition dubbed Futuridium EP Deluxe.

The indie game making studio comprises two fans of classic arcade titles, and Futuridium was developed as an homage to the retro Commodore 64 classic Uridium, trying to capture its fast-paced action and the unique feeling of lying back and forth on colossal space dreadnoughts, reimagined in full 3D with a retro-looking flat-shaded and glitchy neon visual style.

The news regarding the PS Vita version came over the PlayStation Blog, where one of the two developers offered more information on the fast-paced psychedelic shooter.

Futuridium is already available for the PC, Mac and iOS, but the PlayStation Vita version will bring extra levels, music and game modes, as well as PlayStation Trophies and smooth 60 fps gameplay.

"We can't tell a firm release date for now, but you won't have to wait too much. The price will be very interesting," teased Mauro Fanelli, co-founder of developer MixedBag.
