14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has fixed the security error found on its Xbox Entertainment Awards website, which resulted in the personal information of many Xbox Live users go public, and is now offering a free code for 1600 MS Points as a gesture of goodwill.
The Xbox Entertainment Awards were opened earlier this week and Xbox Live users were able to cast their votes for the best content that appeared on the online service last year.
Sadly, due to a glitch, the personal information of many voters, including Xbox Live Gamertags, email addresses, or real names, were displayed publicly for a short amount of time.
After taking the website down in order to solve the error, Microsoft has now apologized for this glitch and, as a token of appreciation, is offering 1600 MS Points for free to those whose personal information were leaked.
The company also advises them to change their passwords, according to CVG, and be careful if they receive any suspicious emails.
