Epic Games has shared a few more details about Fortnite, its long awaited Unreal Engine 4-powered survival game, confirming that it’s evolved in different ways and that an announcement about it should appear soon enough.

Epic Games first revealed its brand new Unreal Engine 4 technology a few years ago, and soon after it confirmed that its first UE4-powered title would be a game called Fortnite.

The new title received a few details, confirming that it’s a survival game with a deep system for customization and crafting, but not much else has been heard about it since its takeover by the Epic Games Poland studio.

Now, Epic's Ray David has told RPS that the game's development is going really well and that a reveal with an evolved version of the original Fortnite idea is coming soon enough.

"I would say it has evolved. Like all game development, it’s a long, long road and lots of things are discovered along the way. With Fortnite, the way I look at it is we think there’s a big opportunity, and the last thing you want to do is rush something before it’s really found its core," he said.

"The team’s been working really hard. I think they’ve made some tremendous progress. Hopefully we’ll be able to talk about it more soon. I can say that it’s a tremendous amount of fun to playtest."

Unfortunately, no exact date has been given, so who knows when Fortnite might see the light of day once more.
