The development team working at Square Enix on the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn MMO says that all those who are playing the game on the PS3 will be able to switch to the PlayStation 4 version for free when it is launched.

Character data and other data can be transferred in order to make sure that a player can continue exactly where he left off.

A beta stage for the PS4 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be available on February 22, which is the same date that the console will be out in Japan.

Eurogamer quotes Square Enix as saying that, “Essential work to increase the number of servers and strengthen the service environment, with the aim of alleviating the crowding on existing servers is also in progress.”

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is still affected by some issues on the PC and the company has offered extended trials for those affected.
