One week after it was officially launched, players are reporting that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is still affected by problems with the login process and the character creation, despite the best efforts from the team at Square Enix.

The company says that it is monitoring server status and load in order to make sure that they are not affected by any unexpected downtime.

The team states on the official forums that it is also taking into account a measure that will see trial periods expanded by seven days for players in order to apologize for the current issues.

Square Enix says, “This includes non-legacy players from 1.0, who will be given new seven-day free trials. Details on the trial extension, including the extension period, will be released in a separate post as soon as they have been solidified.”

The company also thanks its fans and players for the support they have offered during the launch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
