The team at Square Enix working on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn announces that the game will be officially offered on the PlayStation 4 on April 14 of this year and that an official beta stage will be offered starting on February 22.

The company wants to launch two testing phases that are designed to test the core game mechanics and the infrastructure.

First, players will get access between February 22 and March 3 and then, the developers will implement a full wipe.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will once again be open from April 4 to 7 and all characters created will be transferable to the MMO once it is officially launched.

The game has already been a success for Square Enix on the PC and the PS3 and the company does not have plans to offer any cross-platform play.
