The Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster already managed to surpass Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII total sales in only two weeks, in Japan.

The third installment in the Final Fantasy XIII subseries was released in Japan on November 21, 2013, and is scheduled for release in the rest of the world in February.

The Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster launched on December 26, for both the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita, with cross-play support right off the bat.

According to the latest sales numbers from Famitsu, as cited by GearNuke, the remastered edition Final Fantasy X / X-2 has scored 50k units sold on the PlayStation 3 and 35k on the PlayStation Vita the last week, which brings the total aggregate sales to around 400k.

There have also been registered 22k sales of Final Fantasy X HD standalone on the PlayStation Vita, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, on the other hand, has an aggregate of a little below 400k units.
