As reported earlier, for the 10-year anniversary of the Far Cry franchise, Ubisoft plans to re-release the game that started it all, in a modernized version that sports full HD visuals and revamped cutscenes and interface.

The story starts when ship captain John Carver finds himself stranded on a tropical island and discovers that the local mercenaries aren’t too keen on unwanted visitors.

The tropical paradise setting contrasts with the gritty struggle for survival, and players will have to use the full arsenal of stealth, cunning, and strategy – as well as do a lot of shooting – in order to emerge victorious in the conflict.

The enhanced version of the original Crytek game, dubbed Far Cry Classic, will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles starting next week, on February 11.

The perfect opportunity to witness the beginnings of the acclaimed series will set you back $10 / €7.5.
