The reveal of the next installment in the Far Cry series was met with widespread excitement, and for good measure: Far Cry 3 was a great maniac simulator that allowed you to kill tigers, sharks and countless faceless henchmen while feeling good about it.

Far Cry 4 promises to be an even better first-person maniac simulator, if we are to take the co-op gameplay demo at face value, and especially so when confronted with the latest gameplay reveal. Apart from the gorgeous Himalayan setting, the game also teased us with a completely new exotic animal to kill: an elephant.

It turns out you can do much more than simply shoot the poor lumbering water hole memory banks in the face.

The video shows how you can take two wildly different approaches to playing Far Cry 4. On one hand, you can meld into the shadows, become a stealthy harbinger of death that wields creepy medieval weaponry that is befitting of a megalomaniacal serial killer.

On the other hand, you can go for the flamboyant approach. You can play pretend that you’re Hannibal assaulting Rome, get on top of an elephant, and start wreaking havoc with the help of your trusty double-barreled shotgun and your tusky ride.

Far Cry 4 is expected to come out on November 18, for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms.
