Wasteland 2 will not be directly influenced by the players who have contributed to the Kickstarter project to fund it, but the team working on the game will be asking for feedback at crucial points during the development process.

Brian Fargo, who is the leader of inXile and the creator of the Wasteland concept, spoke to Gamasutra about his new project and said, “When I get feedback from the users, I know a good idea when I hear it, and I know a consensus when I hear it. I'll make that decision myself. Now, if I'm working with a publisher, they can tell me what to do, I can disagree, and they'll say, 'we don't care.' There's a huge difference.”

The game will be receiving updates throughout the development period and Fargo has stated that he plans to make a classic role-playing experience that will directly appeal to all those who loved the first Fallout titles.
