After a delay longer than 24 hours, the World Cup-themed content for FIFA 14 Ultimate Team is now live on all platforms, which means that gamers can select the new competition from their menus, build their squad and compete with friends.

The Kick-Off mode linked to the 2014 Brazil tournament is also available for those who are looking for a quick match experience.

EA Sports is aware that some players have issues with disconnects at the end of a match and are asking all those affected to post in an official forum, so that the Quality Assurance department can pinpoint and solve the problem as fast as possible.

The World Cup update introduces a new mode parallel to the classic Ultimate Team that features all the national teams, with a new set of players that have stats built entirely on the performance they have shown in international matches.

The new content, which is free on all platforms, was initially set to be launched yesterday but a problem which could have affected the overall quality was identified just before the release.

All those who buy a World Cup Ultimate Team pack from the official store will also get a normal Gold pack for the classic FIFA 14 mode.
