The development team at EA Sports working on FIFA 14 announces that the Ultimate Team mode of the football sim is at the moment affected by a number of connectivity issues and that the company is currently looking to pinpoint the cause of the problems.

The official Twitter announcement does not say how many gamers are being affected at the moment or when the studio believes that it might bring the Ultimate Team mode back online.

Fans have reacted rather angrily to the problems currently affecting FIFA 14, especially given that it seems that the title has a new set of problems that affect at least some of the community every week.

Ultimate Team has quickly become one of the most popular modes for the football simulation series, because it allows players to mix and match players, based on their Chemistry values, in order to create the perfect team and then challenge friends and rivals online, using a complex league system.

EA Sports is at the moment putting the finishing touches on FIFA 15, which will be offered on the PC, the PlayStation 4, the PS3, the Xbox One and the 360 in late September.

The title will use a new version of Ignite and will deliver improvements to Ultimate Team.

UPDATE: EA Sports has brought down the Ultimate Team mode for a two-hour period to perform maintenance.

UPDATE #2: The game is now playable and gamers should not have any issues with the game mode.
